WHAT IS FILM FORCE?
Film Force is a film collective based in NYC. Four times a year, we challenge a group of directors to interpret the same dialogue-only script into a short film, then show them back-to-back at a public screening.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
At the start of each Film Force season, participants will receive a Film Force screenplay. The screenplay is formatted like any traditional film script, with one major difference - it is comprised entirely of dialogue. Directors will be tasked with bringing this dialogue to life however they want. The only rule is that the lines cannot be altered.
Directors may execute their films with as big or small of a team as they see fit. As a growing film collective, Film Force can recommend names of NYC-based actors and crew and/or connect each director to creative individuals that might come onboard to collaborate on the short films.
Once scripts are sent out, directors will have two weeks to decide on a tentative logline/short description + title for their short film. Once they submit their short descriptions and film titles, the directors will then have 6-8 weeks to complete their films before the screening.
Every edition of Film Force culminates in a shorts screening. At the screening, we show each film back-to-back in its entirety. Screenings take place at theaters and spaces around New York. The screenings are open to the public, free, and first come first serve.
